R-Chie and Diane dated for 8 years, lived in different states, and made it through the ups and downs of long distance which brought them to this unforgettable moment. Since their first form of communication via AOL Instant Messenger, they’ve managed to keep their love strong “no matter the distance.” This became the inspiration behind his proposal and it was perfection. Against the odds with Hurricane Isaac, the sun came out, rain clouds deceased, and plan A was in tact! Plus, I’m in complete awe of these photos. Scarlett & Stephen couldn’t have captured the raw emotion better if they tried!
R-Chie lives in San Diego while Diane lives in Jacksonville, FL and he knew during his next visit it was time to pop the question. The Yes Girls worked with R-Chie to come up with all the personal elements he wanted to incorporate. TYG created wooden state cut outs of all the places they’ve lived and matched them to the form of communication the couple used during that time in their relationship. This included the first time he said “I love you” on the phone in Jacksonville or the first couple of emails they exchanged via AOL. The compass rose guided them along the pink “map pin points” on the beach as they journeyed through the growth of their relationship. The last city and state displayed (San Francisco, CA) is one of her most cherished places; since he was unable physically propose in San Francisco, he brought a piece of San Francisco to her!
The personalized DIY’s from this one makes me so happy it all came together smoothly. R-Chie said they will even be using the props in their wedding! Awe I can’t wait to see the photos. We have more in store for you as the video by Jason Avery Films is coming soon!
